Not surprising, insects significantly affect human civilization, whether the impact is positive, such as pollination of our food plants, or negative, such as competition with our food supply or carriers of major human diseases. Participants will learn about the approach to studying insects, they will learn about Pennsylvania native species (both beneficial and harmful), finally students will do a bug hunt at Rohrbach's to discover local bug life! Bring a water bottle, snack (or money to purchase one from the farm market), garden gloves, and wear sunscreen and walking shoes!! Age appropriate for independent 10 - 14 year olds.
